How to make edible table decorations for Christmas
From tasty gifts to treats for every festive occasion, Lottie Shaw’s has got you covered, but have you ever thought about getting creative in the kitchen? And we’re not talking about simply whipping up a recipe of your own, we’re talking edible table decorations!
We enlisted crafting queen, Katie-Rose from @our_life_our_play to give us some tips on how to create edible table decorations with some of our favourite Lottie Shaw’s products.
Katie-Rose’s top tips for creating edible table decorations at Christmas:
- Keep it simple. Make the decorations easy to assemble so they won't fall apart when you’re arranging your table décor
- Think about shelf life too. Choose edible creations that can be created a day or so before the big day and that will keep fresh in a sealed container
- If you’ve got children, consider making the edible table decorations as an activity for Christmas Day itself. Try giving them a few gingerbread toppings, a small tube of icing and some gingerbread, as a fun way to keep them busy as dinner is being served, or between courses
How to make gingerbread place settings
- Lottie Shaw’s Gingerbread Decorating Kit makes the perfect base for gingerbread place settings
- Simply decorate it with the decorations provided and buy some small icing letters
- Then decorate using the icing provided and add the letters with some edible glue, to spell the names of everyone around the Christmas dinner table. The result is a table setting that doubles up as dessert!
