How to a seriously good Valentine’s dessert
Everyone knows that Lottie Shaw’s has the perfect treats for gifting this Valentine’s Day. From heart-shaped goodies to Millionaire Shortbread bearing a heartfelt message, we’ve got the perfect token for that special someone. But what if you want to go one step further and create a show stopping dessert to make February 14th even more magical? Don’t worry, we can help with that too! Here are two ideas for simple, but special Valentine’s desserts.
Lottie Shaw’s Valentine’s Grazing Board
Grazing boards are enjoying their moment in the spotlight and a few simple twists can turn this trend into a Valentine’s masterpiece, perfect for sharing.
-
Gather your favourite sweet treats, the more hearts, the better! We opted for Luxury Chocolate Caramel Hearts, All Butter Shortbread Hearts, Yorkshire Parkin Proper Posh Milk Chocolate Buttons, a Millionaire Shortbread with a ‘love’ twist and plenty of fresh fruit
-
Arrange your treats on a large, flat chopping board, plate or platter, we love the tall glasses to add some height, but you can get creative. Mix up the treats and colours to add interest
-
Finish with whipped cream and sprinkles
-
Enjoy!
Lottie Shaw’s Personalised Shortbread Hearts
How about putting your own twist on one of our Valentine’s best sellers? We love this idea for a night in with the girls, or even for a Valentine’s activity with young children. These home decorated shortbread treats could even make for an extra special Valentine’s gift.
-
Stock up on royal icing, piping icing, icing pens and of course, Lottie Shaw’s All Butter Shortbread Hearts. To ensure the biscuits are as themed as possible, go for reds, pinks and whites
-
Roll out the royal icing then use the heart shaped tag from the tube of All Butter Shortbread Hearts as a stencil, with which to create the perfect heart shape in the icing
-
Use a small amount of the piping icing to stick the heart to the biscuit, then pipe all the way around to create a lovely white border
-
Decorate the remaining biscuits as you see fit, writing cute messages with the icing pens and making patterns with the piping icing. You could even add sprinkles as a final touch
